Four Ways to Show Your Love this Earth Day

It's been over a month since we had to close our cafe doors. Is it just us or is cabin fever starting to set in? April 22nd marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, which raises awareness about environmental issues. While we aren't able to participate in group activities this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t find creative ways to get active, give back, and celebrate.

To help, we’re sharing 4 fun ways you can celebrate Earth while you Shelter-In-Place:

  1. Take a Virtual Tour of a National Park

The geniuses over at Google have put together a series of guided virtual tours of 113 national parks around the country. These virtual tours provide stunning views of trails, monuments, historic sites, and shorelines that will no doubt give you some serious wanderlust. It may not be the same as lacing up your hiking boots, but hey, this is the close as we can get right now!

  2. Invest in a Reusable Coffee Mug

Billions of disposable cups end up in landfills worldwide every single year. If reducing waste isn’t enough to convince you to go reusable, here are a couple more reason you should make the switch:

    • A More Enjoyable Cup: With a range of durable insulated cups on the market, double-walled reusable mugs will keep your hot coffee hot, and your cold coffee cold (for hours!).

    • Save Money: Many cafes (like us!) offer you a discount on the price of your coffee if you bring your own cup.

  3. Get Outside and Enjoy Nature

Make sure that you’re taking a little bit of time to get out and enjoy the fresh air. Consider riding your bike, picking up trash along your favorite routes, or simply taking a walk around the block to appreciate all the nature around you. From virtual run competitions to free workout apps, there are some creative (and FREE!) ways out there to keep you healthy and sane.

  4. Give Back
In honor of Earth Day, we invite you to shop one of our Contribution Blends—The Vine Trail “Blazer” Blend. We give 20% of every bag sold to The Napa Valley Vine Trail to help with their initiative to build a 47-mile, walking & biking trail system connecting the entire Napa Valley – from Vallejo to Calistoga! Looking for more ways to donate? Here are a number of initiatives, organizations, and governments making strides in conservation and sustainability.

We’ve got to do what we can to protect Earth. After all, it’s the only planet with coffee!
